Linda is a native ladybeetle (Cryptolaemus montrouzieri) that feeds on mealybugs. The juveniles look similar to mealybugs but are larger, furrier and move faster. Adults are black (without spots) and have orange heads. Both adults and juveniles feed on mealybugs.

Ladybeetles are available directly from Bugs for Bugs. Click on the link to visit their website.

Main Target Pests

  • Mealybugs
  • Pulvinaria scales
  • Soft scales (juvenile crawler stage only)

Adult Linda will also feed on pollen and nectar if pest numbers are low. Having a mix of flowering plants throughout the garden, like those in the Bed & Breakfast Seed Mix, is another way to encourage Linda to remain actively working in your garden.
